Only in the Sandman and Meet Joe Black have I seen that happen. The good news for us is we can have Saga and EOW and we don't have to choose. I don't know that I disagree with most of your post except the above. I don't feel like we've gotten to know any characters all that much. What makes Death likable? I don't want to give anything away and I could be reading it wrong but I believe he fights for more than just himself and he seems to be willing to play outside of the box. He also has some of the best quips/lines in comics. I am most assuredly pulling for him. I suspect that Hickman wouldn't spend 5 months building the villain and no time introducing the hero. Prices are all over the place from $79-$169 in the past two months. Raw books mind you. The last one sold doesn't say anything about grade. But $75 for a VF+ seems cheap.
