Most often color touched issue?

40 posts in this topic

I would have to say based on my recent search that the most often color touched silver age comic is Silver Surfer #1

I've been looking for a 7.0-9.0 raw copy for about a month and I was stunned by how many color touched copies I found, I swear it was at least a third of the ones I looked at.

My only guess for why is the black cover, and the tendency to get color breaking vertical creases from being square bound.

I was curious if anyone else had noticed the large amount of them, or knew of another book that they think is color touched more often.

You really have to go with the high dollar and common black cover or black spine books from the 1960s and 1970s.

Silver Surfer 1 maybe 4

ASM 13 28

Iron Man 1

Captain America 100

FF 112

Spotlight 5

Ghost Rider 1

Avengers 4

Amazing Fantasy 15 might get a nod too.

I'm missing a few but those are right up there.

I'd be interested to know which copper books get the color touch treatment. TMNT 1?

I gotta guess AF 15 hands-down is the leader...534 restored copies out of 1860 graded equals a whopping 28.7%! :o Over 1 in 4 books restored!

ASM 28 109 restored out of 933...11.7% or a little over 1 out of 10 books...
