Isn't Hugh person_too_unaware_of_social_graces a gay porn-star (Darth, help me out here...) or did I read your message wrong again ? tongue.gif

Anyway, I don't vote in international referendums...takes too much time and effort as most of the poll-takers (in MY experience) just don't know how to count the votes or it takes ages for them to analyse the results and they always want the most-popular opinion...But hey, that's just ME , MY opinion, just how I feel... grin.gifgrin.gif

Curse you Bug, it's contageous

LMAO.....I know......I figured I'd let everyone take a crack at me. I usually try to be an a little bit at all times......but in a fun way in here. That's why I put in that last choice. I just wasn't wanting people to think I was mad when I was typing my posts in this thread. I just don't sell much on eBay and don't care about absolute top dollar, so it's easier for me on cheaper stuff to just ship in the U.S.......just my personal preference and not trying to say anything bad about other countries.

This thread was started to find out why some people won't ship internationally.....and I gave some of my reasons why.......then got my jumped in an alley be 3 Canadians, 2 Germans, and a duck that kept yelling "Aflack"....... tongue.gif

I hope I'm the duck...I'd rather be the duck than the German....

Give me a break here, I know we're just a speck on the world map, but I'd rather quack all day than eat sauerkraut...

German ??? P-lease...I mean Jens is German 'nuff said

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Bug, lets keep the private life PRIVATE. Your letting people take cracks at your or whatever it was you were saying is NOT something I want to read about here. Lord knows I get enough of those stories from Greggy via PM... blush.gif

I have no interest in e-mailing someone to see if they are willing to ship to Canada

But this is exactly my point........if someone can't take 30 seconds to email me for something they really want and would pay quickly for......then why should I take the chance that they might not want it that bad and will drag payment out for 3 weeks. Me personally......I'd rather have $100 now than $120 in three weeks along with a headache. I'm not gman........I don't have to wring every penny out of eBays lifeless corpse when I sell an item. Nothing against Canadian or International bidders.......blame it on the deadbeats I've dealt with and the pain in the , stand in line all day, post office.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How did what I say prove your point? Did I say anything about paying quickly or slowly in the text of my post?

If you as a seller clearly indicate on the item page that you don't ship outside of the US then why should the buyer assume that you might reconsider if they contact you? IMO you've stated your shipping policy VERY clearly so there is no need to waste 30 seconds on sending you an e-mail.... the buyer ALREADY has their answer... "international bidder move along to another auction".

However, if you said in the text of your auctions "I WILL ACCEPT INTERNATIONAL BIDS ONLY IF YOU CONTACT ME IN ADVANCE" then I could understand your reasoning, and as a non-US bidder I might send you an e-mail.

Sitting around waiting for payment to arrive is part of the whole selling process. Whether it takes 5 minutes or three weeks for payment to arrive, if that's a problem for you then I guess I'm unsure as to why you are selling on e-bay.

I've really slowed down on selling the past two years, but I have to agree with Bugaboo on this one. I've simply had just two high a percentage of overseas sellers who have:

a) never paid

b) taken forever to pay

c) been whining skinflints about shipping

d) sent the wrong form of payment (knowingly, I suspect)

e) complained about delivery time after taking forever to pay

Dont' get me wrong--I've had some great foreign customers. Just too many pain in the butts.

Aww .......yeah......that's what I meant. My hands where just typing faster than my brain was working. frown.gif Sorry about the confusion and let me try to make it a little clearer.

Most of the stuff I sell ($40 and over type stuff).....I will usually take bids from anywhere in the world. If it's closer to that $40 range......I'll usually ask international bidders to email me prior to bidding in my auction description.

It's for the el-cheapo stuff, then I usually will just say U.S. bidders only. The original point of this thread was wondering why some people don't allow international bidders in their auctions. I was just trying to tell help and tell my personal reasons why I don't and then the damned lynch mob set it.

Yes....I understand this and am willing to do this. But it's not something I want to have to worry about with 5 different $15 international auctions. I am not a dealer. I just have my own stuff that I occasionally sell on eBay. Just because I don't want to wait 3 weeks for payment doesn't mean I can't or shouldn't sell on eBay. I sell on eBay to get rid of stuff I don't want anymore and to get extra cash to buy stuff I do want. Not to go to a lot of hassle. If I want to make it easy for me and just sell to U.S. bidders for my cheaper items because it's easier on me......then who is anyone else to tell me that's wrong? confused.gif

And you'll soon rue the day you questioned me Kev.....oh.....how you'll rue. smile.gif .........by the way......how exactly do you rue? confused.gif

Thanks for the support S&B........but the next time someone outside the U.S. asks a question as to the reasons why someone might do something like this.....I won't try to help again by offering reasons......I'll just keep my mouth shut and let them wonder(but only that one time). tongue.gif

International bidders have been great for me. smilie_daumenpos.gif I sent chromium a package with a [!@#%^&^] load of comics and it worked out great.

One of my latest auctions had 3 international bidders (Korea, UK, and Canada). tongue.gif I've had about 30 to 40 INTL transactions and only had one deadbeat which was from Canada. What's up with canada? smilie_hae.gif

Although I can relate to bug on certain items that I will only ship in the US (ie. Heavy Car products).

Agreed.......I wouldn't have any problems with shipping to anyone here on the forum to any part of the world. Maybe I've just had some bad luck with the few international winners I've dealt with and will loosen up after a few more successful transactions that go trouble free. And again......don't get me wrong......for most items......I DO accept international bidders.....either from the very start.....or at the very least......after they email me first.

I've had some really good dealings with Canadian bidders......and a couple of rough transactions........but for the most part, they've been good. tongue.gif

You can ship your gay porn/bestiality DVDs in the global priority envelopes Bug...

Why would I want to ship Khaos' home movies to anyone?

I told you, the beastiality movies were a favor to your parents... your sisters will be FAMOUS someday after starring in some of "Uncle Khaos' Barnyard Khlassics!"

Now shut your hole and get back to pretending like you actually have a valid contribution to make instead of flinging feces across your cage.
