I admittedly dislike movies based on Marvel comics, but let me say that Mandarin is totally out of character, as had been a lot of characters so far.

I really dislike the modern concept of having the villains have some sort of speech impediment for dramatic effect. It sucked badly with Bane, and the Mandarin sounds like a ripoff dialect from the aliens in Galaxy Quest.

The Mandarin is cool, calculated, cold-blooded. He does not need "pauses" in his speech.
