The-Collector
I think it is unlikely but does anyone know if that check mark means this might be a Cosmic Aeroplane copy?

Alas I would say no, as every Cosmic Aeroplane checkmarked book I've seen has the checkmarks done in a distinctively pointed, very sharp/light pencil point style. Attached is a sample Jumbo showing it. On the plus side, in recent threads here on the boards others have told of finding them out in the wild in dealer inventories -- keep an eye out for the sharp checkmarks! Pedigree aside tho, that is a SWEET Strange Adventures 21! The-Collector and MrBedrock

So, Cosmic Aeroplane was a head shop? I miss head shops... Wish I could take credit! But this is just a google search -- recently there was an article or two about "what ever happened to Cosmic Aeroplane?" in that area's local news, with various great vintage pics etc. I am presuming, based on the various store incarnations I saw, that this must be the original setting. It IS a great photo! Edit to add from the photo description -- so I thought the store was from a bit before '74, but still, this may be the original location: photo courtesy Mike Evans Cosmic Aeroplane at 366 S. West Temple location. The store was here from 1974-1976. Edited March 15, 2019 by originalisbest Additional info

Popular Post VAZ
OO. Very small piece of the back cover chipped off and I reattached it. Kind of wish I hadn't. No other resto. Yours at least is on the back cover and still is a beautiful book, congrats! VAZ

The name I always associate with the Cosmic Aeroplane collection is Ken Sanders. He is a rare book dealer from there and must have had some connection to the store. There is a link to a blog post by or about him to the side of the article but no mention of him in the story. originalisbest
