I thought the same thing when I first saw this book. Part of the reason though why I’ve pursued copies of it. Looking up the inside story she actually has a gun so I’d guess 1) The cover artist wasn’t aware of the dialogue and didn’t know she was supposed to be holding a gun 2) unlikely as it seems they censored it. Probably the longest shot since this is a pre code book 3) my guess the artist just plain forgot and it’s a mistake. Might have been a busy week when he drew it. Again can't post here. I collect/collected all obscure #1's in higher grade. So, over the years if I saw and extra high grade copy of a #1, I'd pick it up. About 20 years ago when everyone was starting to focusing on key Marvel or DC books they were given these obscure esoteric books away for pennies. I decided to buy up whatever I came across. I couldn't afford to put this collection together today. I have hundreds and hundreds of high grade obscure esoteric #1's, #nn's, promos, giveaways, 3-D, and Dell file copies. Love your books.
