Wow, sweet book John! Everett Atlas horror cover.... cloud9.gif

(The Man With A Tail is kinda cute, too...) 27_laughing.gif

Thanks! Has anyone else noticed that the man being attacked looks a lot like other men being attacked in Everett covers? I'll do some research today and see if I can come up with more concrete evidence...

I was thinking the same thing!

Nice comic JK -- if you get a chance scan it after it's been liberated.

Will do. I'll probably crack it a little later today when I'm more awake. I want to read the Ripper story.

"Shrowd" -- HAW! I wonder whether an editor got his butt kicked for that after it hit the stands.

You're right that covers don't get much pinker than that!

Jack

Ghastly, add Farrell to the list of publishers that can get away with using pink. They had a bunch of covers in various shades of pink and purple. They even used hot pink for the cover of an issue of Strange Fantasy!

Don't forget Voodoo!

Perhaps a whole 'nother thread can be started on astonishingly lame post-code horror covers.

My first two (non-LB Cole related) pre-code purchases. I REALLY like these covers. cloud9.gif

I know Harveys are relatively common. Are these typical of prices paid for nice looking books in the 4.0-5.0 range?

I'd say they're reasonably typical - Harveys are not in as heavy demand as other publishers, especially in mid-grade (barring of course, Black Cat 50 and Tomb Of Terror 15, copies of which are currently on ebay and going for way over FMV).

However those are definitely two of the better covers in the run, the 24 being the issue that Gerber omitted for no apparent reason.

That CoC #24 would have been a smidge high (by maybe a measly $5) for a Harvey in that shape IMO had it not been what it is. However, CoC #24 is a tough find, so you got a good deal on it! thumbsup2.gif

The other purchase is right in line, bro! 893applaud-thumb.gif

Thanks guys. I didn't think I overpaid, but it's always good to double check. I would have gone as high $60 for the 24, as I think that cover is as good or better than 95% of the pre-code horror covers I have seen. I honestly figured it would go WAY over guide. confused-smiley-013.gif
