American Indian Comic Book Characters anyone?

I'm trying to compile a decent list of american indian comic book characters / and series that have ever been printed. This would include any historicly accurate portrayals of actual living people (Geronimo comes to mind).

 

I have the Oni Press limited series Skinwalker on that list, The Superfriends character Apache Chief, and there was another old west-related comic book series that came out a few years ago whose name escapes me at the moment.

 

anyone have any other titles or characters that fit that profile?

I believe 'Thunderbird' was an American Indian character. He appeared in GS X-Men #1 and X-men #94 & #95.

In the 50s there were a number of Indian heroes in comic books - look thru the Gerbers.

Echo is about the only one actually WORTH knowing about. Tribal Force was an unsuccessful comic lanuched by Indian creators a few years ago. you might try the site bluecorncomics.com for more info. you might also try Todd Tamamend Clark's Amazon list on Indian graphic novels.

I recal one, I am gonna have to dig thru the long boxes.... Native Americian with Red Hair. He was called a half-breed and a few other almost PC titles that The Comic codes allowed... but.... I cannot recall the name....
