Hey mods, why was my comic-related thread locked?

Again, for everyone saying stuff along the lines of "it's easy not to get strikes", the point is being missed. Whether you guys want to admit it or not, if you've been an active poster here for a few years, you have an investment in this place. I value my account. Granted, I was being silly and prodding the mods a couple of months ago which resulted in my strikes, but that doesn't change the fact that the mods are not doing a great job here.

 

If you're cool with the fact that someone can remove you from this community for a week, a month or forever, with no sound reasoning required, well good for you. I like to have fun. I also like to express myself, whether seriously or not, in as unrestrained a manner as possible. I can get on board with no swearing and no girly pics, but when the mods are removing posts and locking threads for no apparent reason, why would I assume that they would exercise any kind of logic the next time a button-humper decides they don't like one of my posts?

 

So yeah, don't trust their judgment and I'm not interested in modifying by normal posting behavior. So that's it.

I was yelled at the other day by some stranger for saying "Third World" the other day. I as in line and said to a friend that most people are not even aware of real third world problems. Then a lecture ensued by the person behind me that it was insensitive and demeaning to people that are not as fortunate as I am.

It would probably take something pretty major for you to get booted, strikeworthy offense or not. My guess is they'll do like they do with some other, much less contributing members who get close to being auto-banned. They'll issue a wrist slap for something instead of an actual strike.

 

Not that I don't disagree with your take on the moderating and the post doc made about it being the fault of the Pernts brigade. Both are true. But don't take that thread's lockdown as any sign that you're any closer to getting the banhammer than you were 3 days ago.
