1st Appearance Game.

On another note entirely, just as Sgt. Rock's first appearance gradually shifted from Our Army at War 81 to 83, I'd like to tilt at windmills for a moment and suggest the same thing ought to happen regarding the Teen Titans.

 

Specifically, in Brave and Bold 54, the name "Teen Titans" is never mentioned and Robin, Kid Flash and Aqualad don't even form a team of any kind. It's just three heroes fighting together. If there had never been any Teen Titans appearances following this one, no one would today remember B&B 54 as the one-time appearance of the Teen Titans. Comics.org correctly does not list 54 as the TT first appearance, but says the three heroes are "later to become the Teen Titans."

 

It's not until Brave and Bold 60 (http://www.comics.org/issue/19203/) that the name Teen Titans is used and there's an actual team.

 

I acknowledge that speculators and collectors don't see it this way now and might never.

 

But then again, OAAW 81 was Rock's first appearance for decades, too. Until it wasn't.
