This is uglyyyy – but I picked it for a nice price and will work as a filler for now.

Your toughts?

 

Piece out UFC, tape pull-like damage and some bits out of BC, general minor wear.

Just wait for the grade from ASM 1 and then compare it to your copy, I think this copy half a grade better than the other at most.

Ouch...1.5 because of piece missing...most of rest of book has characteristics of G/VGish condition...

It has a pieces missing on the front and back cover. And a chunk out of the front cover. Also tape pulls across the front cover. If you add the tape pull and chunk maybe 1/12 of front cover missing.

I agree that the tape pull makes it worse than if it was just missing the large piece… I am still puzzled as I see some CGC graded books which go above GD 2.0 even with quite large pieces missing.

 

Any other evaluation?

Sorry to post these books on your thread. The Avengers #1 that I had hanging up on my comic room wall I got graded by CGC 1.5, And this Hulk #4 2.5 with a smaller piece missing. So that is why I went for 1.5 maybe 1.8 but I cant see a grade bump above that. Maybe CGC are more lenient with grades now. The avengers was graded about 5 years ago

I’m not saying it’s better, I just would like to remind where I saw some examples of CGC GD or GD- books with quite large chunks missing – I am sure I saw some…
