One book that arrived recently wasn't quite in the condition I had expected. However since the novel is usually better than the movie, this should be an excellent read. It also rounds out my opening salvo in obtaining at least one book by Woolrich, Chandler, Gardner, and Hammett.

The movie tie-in mention is interesting, at least.  Probably means that copy is from 1947... which would be a wonderful reference point for any other publisher, but pocket was actually good about printing information! lol
