For TTC, the best station I would say to get off, is Wilson Station. Take the 96 Wilson Bus (96A, B, C, or D), westbound. The hotel is just west of Jane/Wilson (1, 2, or 3 stops after the intersection), on the south side. It's just past Sheridan Mall (which is on the north side).

First small comic convention I've attended and there wasn't much to look at.

Think most dealers brought their b-list inventory.

Too spoiled by the Niagara n Fan Expo inventory sizes.

Paid my $3 to get in and not even Harley Yee was there.

I came there with $$$ in my pocket looking for pre-Robin Detectives and AF15s - what a disappointment. Only a few lowly Spidey #1s in the room. I expected more out of a show held at the dated Plaza Inn in the economically-challenged Jane-Wilson area of Downsview.

Oh well, not all was lost with a room full of B-list inventory (okay, I admit, I'm kinda into it).

All kidding aside, I managed to grab a few high-grade books from a fellow who had a disproportionate amount of picture-frame Marvels for sale. I think he's a boardie here. :gossip:

Grabbed these two fairly cheap. Love the Neal Adams GL/GA book especially.

Though I didn't get this one as cheap as I would have liked, I did haggle poor Pete Jelic to get this sweet copy of Strange Tales #180, an upgrade over the one I own: Remember when this book was filling $1 bins everywhere?

StrangeTales_180-0001_zps72fc35fc.jpg

And while this is not an A-1 copy, the price was right... and it's an X-Men #5!

And Sensation #92, Canadian edition. :takeit: for this price (do not adjust your eyes). And what do you do when you see something insanely cheap like this? You haggle to get it for even less! It didn't work. I paid the full asking price.

You know, the show was small and what you would expect. There were some duds in the room with overpriced books, but no one was really biting. Some joker tried to sell me a low grade Kamandi #2 for $48. It was good for a laugh. There were enough dealers who brought decent books and priced them reasonably. Sometimes it required a bit of digging but that's what makes it fun, right?

It was a pretty terrible show. I felt bad for the dealers.

Grizzly Adams was there.

Also, the girl at the door took my $20 bill and gave me back $20 in change when I paid to get in. I imagine it was because of my extremely good looks.

Like everyone said, the show was pretty empty on things to buy, went in and left with what I brought. There was a table set up that had 3 or 4 guys selling some books with insane prices. That was the most interesting part of the show, I really wanted to know what was going on there.

New Mutants 98 9.8 - $1000.00

Walking Dead 1 9.8 - $5000.00

Tales of Suspence 39 - $somecrazyamount

Avengers 1 - $yourfirstborn

They had an alright copy of Detective Comics 225 but again, pretty over priced and he wasn't budging much on it. Ah well.

It was actually a fantastic show for me. I've never seen any other dealer other than one before in my life.

I packed light, not knowing what to expect. I brought 6 long boxes of 50 cent/$1.00 and came home with 3.

I brought 3 long boxes of real inventory and came home with 2.

A guy came by at 3:00 and looked at one of the 3 Hulk #181's I had for sale. It was a slabbed 8.5. Anyways he said he was gonna try and find a bank open so he can grab the money for it. I didn't expect much, as I've heard that before but 22 minutes later he was back with an envelope of mad stacks :cloud9:
