Okay, SERIOUSLY...

Is it time for a new age of comics to be named for those printed in the 1990s/early 2000s?

The "ages" have become irrelevant. Comics can be referred to by the decade they were printed in thereby getting rid of any confusion over how certain comics should be classified.

That would be too easy.

We need to somehow confuse matters.

You know.... how ebay calls the Golden age and Silver Age one thing, and Overstreet another and CGC another....

Decades = too simplified!

My vote would be the "Chromium Age" for the 90's to early 2000's.

2010 onwards can be considered the 3D age!

3D glasses, 3D movies, 3D televisions, 3D DC covers....

This is always brought up and I think it's a perfect name.

The 2010s and up could be Modern age, and at some point - we'll be in the Digital Age.

I was thinking either:

1990 - 2000 or 1990 - 2002.

Either keep it very simple in decades.

Golden Age - 1938 - 1959

Silver Age - 1960 - 1969

Bronze Age - 1970 - 1979

Copper Age - 1980 - 1989

Chromium Age - 1990 - 1999

Millennium Age - 2000 - 2009 ( could be a good name)

Modern Age - 2010 - present

I thought 1990 - 2002 because I generally associate the term "Modern" with The Walking Dead and that came out in 2003. hm

Yeah, just think of all the glorious discussions about when ages begin and end that we'd miss out on. :tonofbricks:

So I am going to make this even easier for Overstreet and the advisors.

There is only 2 possible starts for the Modern Age or "Digital Age".

2003 - Walking Dead

OR

2007 - Launch of Comixology & Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited

They should have the 'new' age when both the big two decided on their hideous relaunches / reboots and call it the 'First' age

Every books seems to be a 1st....

Or was that Image's idea :insane:

...when are we going to get a new age for the comics made from around 1990 to somewhere in the early 2000's? I am getting weirded out by constantly seeing books almost 25 years old called "moderns." It doesn't fit anymore.

We need a concensus on agreement of this issue.

We need the power to implement this change.

We need a concensus on the name for the new age that will become instantly recognisable, yet always slightly controversial (as I assume any new name will be.)

I am not looking for ideas on names, we have had many of those threads already. I am looking for simple yes and no votes, and discussion on why or why not. (I know, we shall see how long that lasts.) ;)

What say you?

I was thinking about this exact same thing last week. So bronze, copper, now nickel?
