If the book guessed matches all the clues then the guesser gets the points anyway!

All points accumulated qualify and we're not retroactively making exceptions.

 

To fight against obscurity I've made stumping lower in value and only available for two turns in a row.

 

So let's see if I got this right.

+10 pts. for 1 correct guess.

+2 pts for others' 2 incorrect guesses (or is that non-retro?)

-2 for jaeldubyoo's correct guess.

=10 pts. (or is it 8 because the +2 doesn't count?)

 

+10 for correct guess

-2 for wrong guess meaning you guess and wrong subtract 2

+5 (or more) for stumping

 

So I have 13. Cool, thanks :)

 

MR-SigS , did you make a wrong guess? I went back and added up the points and couldn't find your wrong guess. I have you at 15 points, for guessing Rifleman (10 pts) and stumping with Bloodfire 1 (5 pts). Did I miss something?

 

I'm going to post the current score for the game next post, please check my work.

Not sure what you mean. Comicalgems last post, and his edits to the game rules, show this:

 

+10 for correct guess

-2 for wrong guess meaning you guess and wrong subtract 2

+5 (or more) for stumping

 

Where do you get points for matching clues with a wrong guess? (If that's what you meant)

I don't think stumping should be rewarded. Otherwise everyone would pick only the most obscure books, even if it's by the major publishers. There are some that aren't even listed by Overstreet. Trust me, there are some books practically nobody has heard of. And people would purposely give clues that aren't good enough to guess the comic.I think if there are more than two incorrect guesses, there should be should be an additional clue given. If there are too many unguessable books, I can see this thread dying. People would stop participating if they have little or no chance to guess the correct answer.

There's more incentive to guess correct books than to stump. I can modify stumping to one turn instead if two?

You're right. I thought I lost two for the WBN32 being guessed, but actually it's as though I never got them. So 15 it is :)

What does comicalgems think? I can modify the scores however people decide.

I'll put players names in alphabetical order, next go around, too.

I think people's sense of fun will outweigh any competitive desire to get points by stumping some irrelevant book

Just to be sure I got this right (I can sometimes be dense :) )

 

+10 points to the person who posted the right answer, not to the person who gave the description, right?

 

-2 points to the person who guesses incorrectly, and

+1 point to the person who gave the description, for each incorrect guess.

 

PLUS the over 5 guesses rule,and such.

 

So I need to go back and add some points to the people that posted books that received incorrect guesses.
