Rude Comic Shop Experiences

I once ran into a comic shop and yelled and I ran out. That was a lot of fun, I don't think the shop keeper enjoyed it though.

I also like to walk into shops, look around for an hour or two and than walk out without buying anything, that's actually one of my favorite past times.

Once, I had a stack of books I had selected from the bins and the shop keeper asked me if I was going to buy all those. I said "no", left the stack and walked out.

I like to nod my head in disapproval at the shop keeper as I'm walking out of the comic shop even though they haven't done anything wrong.

I always greet the staff of businesses I frequent first thing when I walk through the door.

When I see them I say hi, how are you today, and smile.

I'm also big on making small talk, weather, little jokes, comment on something they are wearing(especially woman) etc...

 

After 2-3 times going into the same place, most people remember me, and are quick to help if I need something.

No like literally complaining that they were in the store for 20 minutes, and that they were out of towners. Very weird

 

The funny thing was they did buy something. Just don't get it

I guess I feel lucky. As a kid, all experiences were great. The few times I've been in a shop the last few years, great also.

If being ignored is the worst thing that's happened to you in a comic book store, consider yourself lucky.

I have a few experiences, but for what it's worth:

 

Midtown Comics told me I couldn't afford a comic they had on display back in 2008, and some small shop in Baltimore laughed in my face when I asked about the price of some Spider-Man item.

 

That being said I've had fantastic comic buying experiences and all that stuff.
