LDarkseid1
Here's a moderately restored lower grade copy going in C-link's summer featured auction. Where would a copy like this finish? Over $30K, $40K? https://www.comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2FAUCTIONS%2FPREVIEW.ASP%3Fcode%3D2020aug%23Item_1410943&id=1410943&itemType=0 Sensei Ryan

This is a nice book though.

Looks like consignors are trying to tread carefully here by starting to put Reserves on some of their books in this current environment, as I also notice the same thing with the CGC 9.8 graded copy of TMNT #1 which is another high dollar value book. It’s flip-flopped over the years. I suspect Marvel #1 would be the choice for many collectors, understandably so. Birth of the DC Universe vs. Birth of the Marvel Universe. But in the long-run, I do think it will go back to Cap #1, if it hasn’t already. LDarkseid1
GreatCaesarsGhost
Probably. For now, maybe for always. But so far not for its characters so much as the beginning of the Marvel world. I think Cap holds greater appeal to a broader spectrum of people, but Marvel Comics 1 is the beginning of a dynasty HEY @Wayne-Tec, you musta hit the enter key a nanosecond before me Edited June 26, 2020 by GreatCaesarsGhost Wayne-Tec

Popular character won out, and AF #15, for as immortal as it is, doesn’t have the historical historical significance of Cap #1. Cap #1 has (or will eventually again) surpass Marvel #1 with greater ease than Tec #27 will over Action #1–but that too will come, I suspect, in the future. This Cap 1 (the 4.0) has been up for sale at Clink for quite a while with the high bid being 100K. Then somehow it was sold on the other site for 122.5K (while still remaining on Clink)...but now it's immediately back on Clink at auction for current price of 95K with three remaining days and no reserve. My question is, did it actually sell for 122.5 or is the seller just moving it across sites? Or did someone buy it and immediately put it back up for sale hoping to get their $ back and putting the reserve at that amount (or slightly higher to mitigate the buyer premium)? This just seems odd to me because I've seen that same book on Clink for a long time at the fixed price (I think the outright asking price was like 180K but the highest offer was 100K without being accepted by the consigner). If it didn't get any higher offers than 100K on Clink after such a long while, what is the method to the madness is what I'm asking... Thoughts? If it's closer to the former than the latter, someone will be getting a great bargain. 2.5 just sold for 86K recently.
