Hulk 271--why does anybody care about this book?

Sticker shock today at a show, while looking through boxes a customer came up and asked the dealer about a copy, sticker price.....$650.....wtf

 

Where have ya been. That's the going rate for a VF. Seen NM going for around $800 on ebay. Prices will as was said level off but this book will always be expensive now.

 

this copy was raw, is that what it is going for raw?

 

Raw on ebay heck no. But at a show where you can see it and if it was graded correctly then sure.

Sold my 9.6 for 280 on the boards a few months ago

This copy just sold on ebay for $76 dollars.

 

 

 

$76? F-ing crazy. I just sold a decent mid-grade Hulk 180 here for $70 because it was missing its marvel value stamp and an ASM 129 for about the same because it had a clipped coupon on the inside. Ebay value was probably around $75-$85, so I didn't give them away or anything. Those two characters have had multiple movies OF THEIR OWN (granted, nobody saw the Punisher movies..)

We've picked up three copies. One I thought was about an 8.0, sent it down for grading, came back a 9.4. To think this was a dollar bin book not too long ago....
