What is the first appearance of the Infinity Gauntlet?

 

IG#1 is the first appearance (tsk)

 

Thanos Quest is the tale of finding the individual gems

The first appearance of the Infinity Gauntlet as a single tool is Silver Surfer #44.

 

I don't think Starlin and Lim had actually clarified the plans for an actual "gauntlet as host for all six gems" for a while.

 

In Thanos Quest, there is no gauntlet...only the gathering of the six gems.

 

Surfer #44 brings Thanos back into the Surfer storyline, and you see the depiction of what would become the gauntlet on the cover...but notice, the stones are not colored.

 

In other words, after Thanos Quest, it could have been an Infinity Crown, or Infinity Breastplate, or Infinity Shield, or Infinity Undergarment.

 

I'll have to ask Lim next time I see him.

I don't know about millions, but I definitely always grab this book when I run across it for a buck or less, along with most of the other Starlin/Lim SS books. It's a neat run of books that you can still find dirt cheap.
