Okay I wasn't gonna complain again, but I know my fellow canuck is as invested in this situation as I am so here's the short, full story of my experience with QC/customer service.

Got a slab, had a small chip with large newton rings on the front cover, signed 5x detective comics 1000.

Emailed CGC, they said it qualified for a free reholder and sent me the directions on how to do it. Couple weeks later they get me a shipping label. At this point I'm questioning what took so long, but happy to be getting it reholdered.

While being reholdered I got an email. Book got damaged when being taken out, will be 9.6 now, sorry for the inconvenience, here's a $50 credit. Really nice considering they assume 0 liability for this stuff.

On a second look, it'll be a 9.4, here's another $50 credit. That one hurt the soul, but oh well I'll use the credit on my next submission.

Next order goes out and wow, charged the full amount with no invoice sent. I called accounting and they said sorry about that, but we only see a $50 credit so that's all I can refund you for. Dude on the phone was very helpful, but his hands were tied because the only credit there was $50.

So now I have to call customer service tomorrow to figure out where the other $50 is and then I can follow up with accounting AGAIN to get that refunded.

Sorry, rant over. Thanks for reading.

You wrote this in such a calm and cool manner, I would be livid.

Thanks man I'm really trying not to lose it on the customer service representatives who keep getting me halfway closer to a solution.

To keep the story going Darren (who originally offered me the $50 +$50 credits) got in contact with Marcus (who I spoke with last night) so they can get the credit sorted, don't know why it's taken longer than a couple hours, let alone a day. Then I'll let Martinez (accounting) know the credit is there so he can refund it for me. THEN I'll cancel my account and wait for this last submission.

Serious to god if I was billing CGC hourly for how long it's been to figure out this newton rings/credit/damage/invoice error they'd barely be paying me minimum wage with this credit.

Rant over, I'll be back with the conclusion.

I'm sorry, but this just isn't possible. You must've rigged all of this. This is what @CGC Mikeposted (remember, he's just the messenger)...

Oh they may be special... but they aren't specialists.

FYI, this thread should be required reading for everyone in the building.

Although at this point I believe they have all been watching it with an office pool running to see whos job ends up posting here next.

Who had Johnnys sweater fluff in sonic weld?

:flipbait:

I only jest since they obviously are only interested in adding generic "we are working on it statements" and not hard deadlines/fixes that have been put in place to fix the isses.

The cash cow keeps producing milk, they don't care if it is spoiled, as long as the customers keep buying it.

I posted this in a different thread, but it applies better here...

Sometimes it seems like CGC grading books is like Rickey Gervais hosting the Golden Globes:

But why are there no notations of writer, artists or that it's a 2nd print???

Good question.  I just grabbed those images from Facebook.  I looked at copy I found on eBay and it does have the notations.

Got a feeling this is self promotion to get more people grading.

Hell, you give gift grades for a bit, the morans on ebay who proclaim people are putting 9.2 books in 9.8 cases, start subbing, then get indignant when the other morans start claiming the same thing

Meanwhile all grading companies rake in profit.

Once they make enough to justify what they spent on expansion, grading will tighten considerably and people start paying for "quality" once again.

Rinse, repeat, fleece the community
