Where in the world was the Quality Control at CGC???

Since we are on the subject of green labels. I posted a thread on this over a week ago. This book was manufactured with no staples on the cover. It should get a green label and a notation of the error, but CGC decided to go with blue label and make it a full defect I guess. This means that a book with a cool error just looks like another book that shouldn’t have been graded.

Called them up over a week ago and was told they would look into it and they never did.

Not my book, but someone posted it to a Comic Group on FB .... 4.0 Universal with a missing page.

The "all cap" Label Text is a sure sign that this book was meant to receive a Qualified Grade and be encapsulated with a Green Label.  Whoever graded this book checked the wrong box, and whoever reviewed this book during the Quality Control stage missed the obvious inconsistency.  One certification, two separate whiffs.

Got this back today.  It's hard to see in the 1st photo, but It's like it's wedged into the slab which has rippled it quite a bit. I think they needed to trim the sides of the inner well a little more.

This, and more extreme examples of irrevocably damaging a book, are why I don't send any of my golden age books in.

@CGC Mike Is there any reasonable explanation why this wasn't caught other than no one actually looked at the book after it was slabbed? I mean its  not really possible to say someone looked at this book and also missed this.

It should have been noticed.  The best I can do is bring it up to QC.  I haven't found the time to compile examples from this thread for a few weeks.  I will be doing one soon.

I think there’s gotta be a QC employee that gets his/her kicks by letting these through.  They probably follow this thread & get a good laugh with friends when their handiwork gets posted....

@CGC Mikethe certification numbers are showing up as invalid in the system so how am I supposed to submit these for Mechanical Error?

Their submission tracking is down. It goes down more often that a cheap lady of the night.

Have to wait till their it crew gets it fixed.
