Personally, from a DC point of view, I would place Supes and Batman as being their top tier characters. I would then place Flash and Green Lantern as Tier 2 type characters, with Wonder Woman falling somewhere in between a Tier 1 and Tier 2 character. Others like Aquaman, Atom, and Hawkman, I would consider as being Tier 3 characters with somebody like Green Arrow falling in between a Tier 2 and Tier 3 character. Or at least, that's my personal take on how they rank from a comic book point of view for what it's worth. Aquaman was "bottom" tier on the Big Bang Theory. Just ask Raj. gadzukes
I just got back from the movie. I REALLY wanted this to be good, but Ugh, I really didn't like it very much. Bad writing. So so acting. WAAAAY too many battles. Way too long. I've been hearing a lot of praise and the box office numbers are huge so I had my hopes up, but for me.... 2.5 out of 5. I honestly can't recommend this movie. kav and Chillax23 1

If you pay attention, the one in last jedi to the casino world didnt actually accomplish anything and plot wise was completely irrelevant. This movie felt like it had two or three quests. Spoiler When Aquaman finds the statue to put the bottle into the hand, Did you notice how all the statues were broken and missing arms. How convenient that the arm that needed to hold the bottle was still intact (after 1000s of years). Two other things that really bothered me were: 1) When Nicole Kidman shows up and is rescued by the Lighthouse guy, I was totally expecting her to speak in a different language. Nope, english. Why not have some light hearted moments of her learning to speak the language (or laughing like a dolphin). 2) What the heck? How do the Atlanteans swim???? What propels them thru the water? They don't even flap their feet. Edited January 9, 2019 by gadzukes kav
seanfingh
Plot holes you could drive a truck through and a lot of goofiness. But I walked out completely satisfied and I truly enjoyed it. It ain't your father's Aquaman, that's for sure. I would give it like a 6 out of 10, but for a DC film that feels like a stand up triple. kav

faster friends
The magic from the trident that sunk Atlantis. It’s also what let them breathe and communicate under water. it was all in the movie. theCapraAegagrus and Larryw7

I do seem to remember that only the royals can breathe on both land and sea (is that part of the magic too... that the magic discriminates between royals and regular Atlanteans?) kimik
The answer is simple. Atlanteans can swim fast due to the profits from the movie. Remember, in the end it is all about the Benjamins.......... Edited January 10, 2019 by kimik aardvark88
Broke as a Joke
I haven't seen Aquaman yet, but does this movie put to bed any attempt that Marvel might put out a Namor movie in the future? Would seem like blatant copying now to the mass public I think.
