Do you have any DC sci-fi books like Strange Adventures or Mystery In Space?

no, sorry.

i only collect detective & action 1957-61 up to last 10 cent issue and white page spideys 1-38.

Well, I love a lot of the Actions from that time period, so looking forward to seeing some more.

Welcome to the boards!

Great titles to collect. I think any DC superhero collector must have Action and Detective at the top of their wants. I can appreciate why you prefer stamp free covers. Most 10c DCs in the UK have that huge black circular 9d stamp so any clean cover is a real treat to behold! Ironic, though, that the stamped UK copies generally have better PQ due to spending their lives in a moderate climate.

Always like to see Action #269. I fondly remember finding a very nice copy, around 1986, at the Leeds Comic Mart, then at The Griffin hotel. The seller I bought it from often had nice DCs and I was sorry when he stopped dealing, apparantly becoming a carpet fitter, or so I was told at the time.

Very nice copy. Much prefer this size of scan, too!

thanks.

as an aside, do you know if Duncan MacAlpine is still in the comic business, and do you know of any comic reading websites?

i did hear of one called htmlcomics or some such, but i can't find it on the net.

Duncan still turns up on ebay, selling comics and related items.

One site worth looking at is www.comics.com - to find odds and ends to read.

The best way to read Silver Age DC is probably through the b/w Showcase reprints that retail at a very modest price. Pity they are b/w, though, as so much visual impact is lost!
