Off to a good start on my Charlton run...I doubt ill find a better copy. And to echo everyone else...that Gold key is tough in F/VF or higher.

What a beauty! And that date stamp is pretty wicked! That's one of the nicest copies I've seen so far!

I thought the play here would be introducing your daughter to other comic book characters via Scooby-Doo Team-Up.

Anyways, if you live near the Toronto area, you might have some tough competition. There's a guy on Kijiji looking for Scooby comics for his daughter, and I know another guy in my area who has all the early issues but is looking for upgrades.

That kijiji guy is actually me!!!! :) I put the ad up to see if I would have any luck. So far I've been offered story books and captain underpants books, but no Scooby comics! Small world eh?

My sets are viewable with the link below. Although I think you probably have already viewed them since you referenced the registry.. there's a couple more to add but I've mostly stopped using the registry.

And my daughter already likes Batman. We have the Scooby team up volume that was just released and have read the Ace the Bat hound issue a bunch of times.

I see that you're two steps ahead of me. Good luck with the hunt!

I'm guessing that this is a case of "six of one; half-a-dozen of the other(s)"...but here goes anyway: which of the BA series (Gold Key, Charlton, and Marvel) has the best overall stories and art?

So for those that have Scooby slabs, did you slab them yourself or buy them slabbed?

I bought mine slabbed. From an older guy who was a friend of Al Stolz. I think it was at the first C2E2.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

Bought them slabbed, I have a number that could be graded but not interested in spending the money or the time to do so. If costs and wait times came down, I'd certainly consider it..

Marvel on both accounts but they certainly don't blow GK/Charlton out of the water on either. None are spectacular - on a couple of occasions in the Gold Key series, there stories and artwork that aren't very coherently put together. If you were looking for something to give to a kid to read, I'd recommend the modern DC series.
