Stolen book? Fishy Craigslist encounter...

19 posts in this topic

I post ads on Craigs list every month or so... just received an offer to purchase this book for a suspiciously low price. Seems super fishy...

Anyone have any idea if this book has been reported stolen?

just meet in person in a public place near a police station, pay in cash, and call it a day.

if he'll meet near the police station, you're probably good to go.

So his plan is to meet somewhere and whack you over the head

Show up with a bunch of thugs and watch him squirm

demand the book

I had the same thing happen with a 3.5 AF15.

I said I wanted to buy and meet up.

Never heard from seller again.

That's bizarre... I guess just pulling a prank? My first assumption was that they wanted to meet me and take my cash.

Good detective work finding that same pic on Heritage :)

Defiantly sounds like it would have been dangerous.

He was responding to my e-mails immediately... until I asked him to take a camera pic of the case at a different angle so I could judge the condition of the case :P

No response. Guessing 'this' is done. Btw, he wanted $2,000 for this... lol

Nothing less respectable than a thief unwilling to maximize profit margins.
