Movies you wish had a sequel/prequel?

I was watching close encounters of a third kind on TV the other night and thought how cool it would be if there had been a sequel to the movie. Dreyfuss comes back 30 years later and the kid who was originally taken in the film has been looking for him all this time etc

 

Since confirmation of alien life has been confirmed, the world has changed drastically since the first movie etc

 

I read that Spielberg considered a sequel or a prequel but then decided against it

 

Shortly after the film's release in late 1977, Spielberg desired to do either a sequel or prequel, before deciding against it. He explained, "The army's knowledge and ensuing cover-up is so subterranean that it would take a creative screen story, perhaps someone else making the picture and giving it the equal time it deserves."

 

So what are some movies you've thought of that should have had a sequel/prequel?

Honestly, I would love to see either a Goonies or a Back to the Future sequel, especially before the cast members get too old.

I wish Zombie land had a sequel. That would be awesome. Also it would be cool to see the continuation of Eragon. I know the eragon movie blew but hey they started the story why not finish it.

Memento prequel would be great.

I agree what you are saying with some-done-in-one movies (Jaws, Beverly Hills Cop, 'Crocodile' Dundee, Sunshine, Groundhog Day, etc). It's just sometimes they can really surprise you (Aliens).

Dog Soldiers actually had a second movie. Instead of a prequel or sequel, they had a story taking place in parallel to the original story I think.
