To my mind the best GGA was produced by Matt Baker in the early 1950s. A lot of the issues are shown in this thread: GGA goodness

Man, that is such an iconic cover! (not to mention scarce) One for the ages.

 

The label doesn't state the cover artist, is it not known? Whoever it is you can see the influence through time, right up to and including Dave Stevens and Bruce Timm.
