It's the first issue of that title, but the numbers carry over from Four Favorites, #32.  Here's mine.

Thanks. I mentioned it to differentiate between the later #33 in the CMPP run published in July 1953. This #33 carried over from Four Favorites #32, and has an issue date of February 1948 making it the first issue of CMPP by issue date. They next issue continued the run with #2 issued June 1948.

Good Looking copy ! Did you have any difficulty finding any in the run?

I haven't attempted to complete the run, as really only certain covers, or the knowledge of particular story styles in specific issues, prompts me to lay my shekels down for them.  They must have done well at the news stands, however, because aside from the earliest ones, they appear very available.

Availability is one of the reasons I chose this particular title as a start to my first run of crime books. It seems to have a few, which are more difficult than others to find (as expected), and a few which command a premium (possibly for the cover or scarcity). If and when I complete this title I will probably move on to a crime series that has more issues or one that is considered more scarce. I really like Crime Does Not Pay too, but man thats a long run to collect. So far I an 17 issues into CMPP with another 10 or so expected next week. That should give me about half the run, then it's going to get more interesting as I get to the last few.
