It seems like they reboot these franchises about every 10 years or so.

They could sit on the film for a decade, hope Miller straightens himself out in that time, and use it as the next reboot of the DCU.

Everybody loves nostalgia. “Hey, remember when Ezra Miller was the Flash?”  With Keaton you’d have DOUBLE the nostalgia!

This already feels like a reboot of the movie they announced half a decade ago

Right?

It blows my mind that even in the best case scenario, since this film was announced, we will have seen three Ant-Man films before a single solo Flash film.

Like, Marvel could potentially finish its whole Paul Rudd Scott Lang arc and be prepping to reboot the character - and we’d still be waiting for this single film to debut.

I think that WBD has stumbled upon a brilliant strategy - cancel almost all existing productions and do not release anything new for 5 years so they can double down on comeback films for both Amber Heard and Ezra Miller. It will just be like RDJ as Iron Man, except bigger since there are two of them.

Also, if the police were looking for him all summer, does WB face any liability if, as rumored, he was doing reshoots during that period. Meaning they knew where he was.

Very Sadly, In the USA, Large Corporation's like WBD are above the law

Monsanto and Bayer should use this as a defense.  "Hey, you can't hold us liable for hundreds of millions of dollars in damages!  We're above the law!"

They do but in legalese. One of the firms you mentioned is the very devil.

Take a firm that for a decade criminally manipulated Precious Metal markets then was caught with hand in cookie jar.   They made 10's of Billions, paid what to them is small amount in fines, 920 Million, and threw those they knew for years were doing the deeds on their behalf to the wolves. Simply paying 920 Million in fines but reaping over 10 BILLION in profit over a decade seems like a pretty good deal!

All WBD has to do regardless of the deeeebaggggg's crimes, is to state; buh buh buh "The film tested well", and all will be forgiven by law enforcement.  Folks while that is tongue-in-cheek it is also sadly far closer to the truth than should be comfortable for any of us.

Option 1) is the one I'd avoid at all costs.

this is like giving a chimp a machine gun. and having the world see it happen live.
