Just finished reading the War Report in the latest edition of the OPG.

 

Congrats to our very own Shep for writing the segment on the BA War market!

 

 

You guys should all check it out!

 

Here's a few books that Shep believed were extremely tough to find in HG -- slabbed 9.4/ raw NM+ and above...

 

(The examples are mine, but not anywhere near those grades...)

Shep also mentions OAAW 256, which...I don't have.

 

(I decided to stop my OAAW run at 255 because the logo is redesigned on 256. Arbitrary? Yeah...)

 

Shep also mentions the HG copies of the 48/52 pagers as being in demand, as well as the early GIC dollar giants.

 

He also goes on to say that the Sgt. Rock 329 Whitman variant is one of the hardest BA books to find. (Hmm, need one of those, too...)

Is that a lot for these types of variants?

Yeah, that's about right. It's among the rarest of the Whitman variants. Took me many, many years to find one.

 

I would suggest that a CGC 9.4 copy would easily fetch $200-$250.

Not for all of them. The Sgt Rock Whitman is considered on the of the harder to find issues.

Did the CGC 9.8 SSWS 154 sell for a reasonable price on this past week's CC auction?

Went for $454, which strikes me as a little weak for a 9.8 on that book, which is:

 

- an origin issue

- totally b-itchin'
