Either 900+ a night (can't do that) or 11-16 miles away or not a hotel rated worth staying at. Nada. Yikes, I saw that $900+ a night in the gaslamp district. There are some in Hotel Circle and Mission Bay which is about a 10-15 ride to the convention center for around $200+ a night (3.5-4 stars) and Downtown (Harbor Island) 3.5 stars, which is even closer for $500+ a night. But ya those are what I can see right now. Hope you can find something soon.

Agent 007
I'm confused. My wife received her SDCC tix in the mail today (VA) in a nice little box. Her friend purchased hers who live in San Diego. Previously, past years if you purchased tickets for others, the 3 tickets were mailed to the purchaser who had the sign on to purchase. We were expecting all 3 tickets to go to San Diego. The San Diego buyers haven't received theirs yet. Are the badges being mailed out for 2017 to the S&H addresses now. Anyone have anything similar going on? justafan
Got tix to the 4 days but not preview night. Wondering, is there any reason to show up Wednesday between 5 and 9pm if you don't have tix to preview night? Any side shows, parties, cool spin-off/spill-over events from when preview night events end or move outside? Also, I'm in VA and haven't received my badge yet so you're not alone if you haven't gotten yours yet.

I've got the same as you this year, 4-day without preview night and my friend and I are staying a few miles away, but on the shuttle route. We'll still bus it into town just to join the hoopla and have dinner somewhere around Gaslamp on Preview Night. It is still alot of fun all around the area outside of the convention center. justafan
Cool, thanks BassGMan. I'll probably end up doing the same just to check it out. Looking forward to just the experience of it. If I manage to be able to hunt for and buy some comics while I'm there I'll be happy.
BassGMan
I received my badge today. They did a nice job this year, actually put a few dollars into it with a nice little box, cool pin and little mini-program book. Just over a month and half to go!! Well of all things a work trip fell right into place the Monday - Wednesday before convention just up the road in Anaheim. Anybody know where I could get a Friday only ticket for SDCC? Marwai
I got this on Albert Moy's mailing list: Albert has two extra rooms booked for San Diego Comic Con 2017 at the Residence Inn by Marriott in the Gaslamp Quarter. http://www.marriott.com/hotels/maps/travel/sanrg-residence-inn-san-diego-downtown-gaslamp-quarter/ That's walking distance to the convention center. Here are some of the details: The rate is $270 a night. They require at least a 4 night stay. You can get one or both rooms.
