It's like the out of shape guy finishing his first marathon, all the people giving out water have gone home and he has to step over the guy sweeping up confetti in order to get across the finish line.

 

maybe we have different ideas of what out of shape means.

 

1) they entered a marathon?

2) they finished a marathon

3) anyone who can run 26 miles is not out of shape in my book-- even if it takes them all day.

 

maybe we have different ideas about a statement that shouldn't be taken literally.
