With the Duotone/Duoshade board pencils and inks are not effected they appear just like on regular bristol. Its the special chemical used to bring out the lines/patterns on the board. Some just have lines going one way some have them stock it can produce different effects. Just depends on the chemicals used.

 

Duotone/Duoshade board does darken over time when exposed to light.

One of the artists I rep, James Harren, loves playing with zip. His art is studied by many younger artists, and they've followed his lead in employing zip in their art. Going by my Twitter and Instagram feeds, zip may be making a comeback.
