I guess it's a nice option to have, but 450KB only gives you so much resolution.  I hope sellers of higher-priced books still take the time to use a third party for hosting so prospective buyers can see the books in more detail.  My flatbed scanner produces 2MB files as a default, while most iPhone shots range from about 1.3MB and up at top quality.

It's your scanner, then, and how it processes post-scanning.  I scan books at 300 dpi, then use Photoshop to save jpegs sized for 350-400 kb files.

You can copy a Photobucket picture and paste it onto your desktop.  Then you can drag it to 'drag files here to attach', and voila!
