I don't get that guy. He keeps making sales thread after sales thread only to get them deleted. Why does he continue to waste his time? No one wants anything from him that knows him and his avatar is dumb as *spoon*

:gossip:

This is where it started.

I made his avatar.

Ah yes, I remember reading that. However, it does not explain why he seems completely incapable of correctly listing a sales thread. Not that many of us would buy from him anyway. I am sure potential buyers love seeing a blinking suck on that avatar. I can't imagine that it fills his customers with a lot of confidence in the seller. lol

Probably true.

Although, as long as he was selling hot books, he'd find tons of buyers here even if he had a blinking avatar that said, 'I will ship you a German newspaper.'

In case anyone wants to try this out...

I wonder if I should actually use some german newspaper to stuff the boxes too... how much of a double win would that be?

Slym reported his own thread.

:o What?! Really?

Yes, really. The fact there was a "master list" was really the problem, IMHO. So, I asked the mods to remove it.

If someone else wants to start a new one, my only suggestion is to keep it to personal posts, no "master list."

I'm sorry for any problems I may have inadvertently caused anyone.

I don't follow this. What do you mean by a "master list" and what do you mean by "personal posts"?

What is your objection to the "master list"?

The "master list" - the big, compiled list that has people (like me and others) in it just because some people (like CAL) put us on their lists because of personal reasons, not business ones. People copy this list, and with some people not deserving it, I don't trust a "master list." If people will post personal anecdotes about why they are blocking people (like YouMeChoose and RMA do, for example) then we can pick and choose who we want on our list, not referring to a "master list" that has people on it unfairly.

-slym

I see your point, but if anyone who objects to being mentioned can get the mods to kill the thread, who will bother to post to it? Didn't a lot of "personal anecdotes" just get swept down the memory hole?

They actually make wax specifically for this purpose that melts at a much more comfortable temperature.

Not that I'm looking to see pictures of it on this message board.

I'm not sure liking women in the issue. It would be fine if you found men attractive...I wouldn't be comfortable if you wanted to pour hot wax on them though.

Raise your hand if anyone here has ever been to a salon (or some other place)where they used hot wax? and that stuff is not in liquid form, it's really just warm.

The fact that publishers, artists, writers, readers and collectors still want/produce this kind of stuff is a sad indictment of the industry.

If only they could produce some well-written stories then I could probably live with having well-endowed women being thrust at me from the pages of a comic book.

They're producing it because people are buying it, so it's more an indictment of the consumer. I said this many years ago on here but I think some people buy these books and ogle cosplayers at cons because it's an 'innocent' and under the radar way of getting their soft porn fix.

Ok, if we are going to psychoanalyze that somehow buying a J. Scott Campbell cover means you are trying to get your soft porn fix, then please analyze the mental issues of all the 30-50 year old men on here read comic books with men in tights trying to save the world.

I didn't say fantasy of any sort was bad and I wasn't passing judgement. It all depends on how much of it someone needs. If you're going to teach people to walk off building ledges then I'd say you're over doing it. Regardless, I stand by my comment. Part of the appeal of Sojourn was the hot chicks and how Greg Land drew them, and I can say that my ex hated that book for the very same reason.

Remember, I'm a comic book nerd who happens to love stories about men in tights and I find women attractive. I'm not judging anyone. (shrug)

I don't disagree with you at all but the conversation has gone onto a tangent. We're no longer talking about the original point.

My point was that most people like a little fantasy but comics have become another delivery method for porn and that is because the consumer determines what will sell and what won't sell.

No, my point was always about sexual pain, I don't care about the porn aspect. I ignore what I might consider to be "soft porn" posted here all the time, doesn't bother me if there are people who enjoy those pictures. I just ignore them. I consider pain a danger, that's my issue.

You are welcome to have your own issues;)

You have your own point of view, but it was not what I was talking about.

Once again, the boards prove that even if you are a person_who_is_obnoxiously_self-impressed, people will buy from you if the book is hot enough. As much as I love the Black Cat, I would rather do without her.

Again, I agree with you.

Why you keep replying to me though, I don't know because my initial reply was to Comicopolis and was in no way related to your point about pain.

My initial point was directed towards the stat of the industry and what is selling. I thought I was pretty clear about it.

Maybe I'm lost in the twilight zone and missing something? (shrug)

I was the OP of that thread, and I asked to have it canned. I think you are confused on how it got poofed.

And yes, a lot of personal anecdotes got poofed. That is why I apologised for causing any possible problems for doing that somewhere on this site.

My error, I'll let you converse with whomever you wanted to converse with.
