I spend a normal amount and then additional with the coupons. The coupon flurry of late does make me wait a couple days before paying, just in case a coupon pops up in the next couple days. At one point one or two of these savings scenarios was landing on a weekly basis. Obviously if it's a bidding style auction, then not applicable. I am not sure the item I just bought could not have been gotten with a best offer at 85% of ask, but it was already reasonably priced (if properly graded.. we shall see), so the coupon feels better than haggling. While waiting for one to drop for an item that was practically already pre-negotiated, the seller informed me the pin-up was missing (not previously disclosed), which was a deal breaker for me.
