I liked The Last Jedi quite a lot. (shrug) The casino sequence in the middle drags a bit, but otherwise I enjoyed it, and thought it had some beautifully composed scenes. Johnson definitely has a good eye for shot composition and color. No question this was the best looking, most visually striking of the new SW flicks.

The Force Awakens left me very "meh". I thought it did a good job of reestablishing the SW brand, by essentially remaking ANH and giving people "what they want". And I DID love the fact that they used so many practical fx, and got away from the CGI cartoons of Lucas' prequel abominations. But as a movie it's just sorta "eh", and I don't ever need to see it again.

And Solo was fine. There was no reason for it to exist, but if it had to exist, you could do worse. Can't imagine I'll ever watch it again, but I liked it better than TFA and the prequels, so that's something, I guess.

But the only "new" Star Wars film that I LOVE is Rogue One. It's the only SW flick since the original trilogy that feels like it deserves to be part of the series.

That was awesome! Thanks for sharing! I only saw bits & pieces of the clone war cartoon

I HIGHLY recommended watching the entire series. There may be an episode or two that you can skip over in the first season, but it really finds its stride in season 2-6 and adds a whole new layer onto the SW universe. The series also gives us the Anakin Skywalker we deserved. Not the one Lucas and Hayden Christensen cringefully shoved down our throats.

Agreed, Clone Wars was terrific. At first I was put off by the animation style (just didn't like the designs) but that soon took a back seat to to the storytelling. Great characterization, great plots (both individual episodes and season/series arcs) and a great deal of fan service as well.

100% the characterization and fan service was next level. If somebody watched the series before watching RoTS, it'd really make Order 66 a complete "holy mess :whatthe:" moment. It really fleshed out just how close the Jedi Knights (especially Obi-Wan and Anakin) fought alongside the Clone Troopers.

The Last Jedi has a 30-minute side quest of drek that does literally nothing. It's also the only Star Wars primary that lacks a lightsaber duel. I didn't want or need them to pay more fan service to the older characters, but they literally destroyed Luke Skywalker's character. Light speed allows you to move at the speed of light - and therefor through other matter - so HOW THE F^&* DOES THAT (albeit beautiful in visuals) SHIP-THRU-SHIP SCENE EVEN WORK!? MARRY POPPINS LEIA.

The Last Jedi is an abomination. I'll respect your opinion and leave you with what little I typed above. I honestly blackout in rage whenever I discuss how awful this movie is. If you'd like some more insight into how bad the movie is, there's a good video on YouTube about "subverting expectations", and how RJ has no idea how to write and direct a movie.

What @TwoPiece x 100! I am not going to write everything that is wrong  with TLJ it would be more pages than bitswarmy's list of all the carnage APPERENCES he wants to get slabbed or not slabbed!

I truly would struggle to find 1 good thing about the  movie!

It's the only SW movie I do not own & will never buy unless it the purpose of the purchase to utterly destroy it with a sledgehammer!

It's too cold to go outside. Break em' out.

Even the side-stories focusing on the younglings play into the larger story and add weight to how awful Order 66 and other Sidious directives truly were. Want to see a Wookie Jedi? Tough. Anakin killed him. lol

Please don't black out in rage on my behalf, I don't want that on my conscience!

Like I said, the casino heist thing was the only part that didn't work for me, it seemed like it needlessly bloated the middle. Otherwise I was into it, including their treatment of Luke. I liked that the movie seemed to be making a clear break, and was committed to doing its own thing. 40  years of Star Wars movies, I'm ready for something different.

But, I'm not here to argue, or to render you unconscious! I know a lot of people had problems with TLJ. They're just not problems for me. As always, YMMV.

Now, to get this thread back on track, are there any other sock puppet/shill accounts out there that are needlessly gobbling up Carnage comic book appearances and then paranoiacally obsessing over perceived grading defects for our amusement?

You aren't the reason I blacked out. The Last Jedi and Rian Johnson are.

PSA: If I die from blacking out discussing The Last Jedi, please make it known that all liability falls on Rian Johnson.

TLJ is the absolute worst! I don't wanna talk about it anymore in this thread like you said & I respect your opinionI

What I legit really wanna see what he thinks is the first appearance of Magneto  &  the 12 pictures per book from multi angles of whatever mystery grab bags of drek that he has with ill perceived grading defects/being ripped off!

I don't understand what the issue is here.  F=MA.  I think small particles will travel through your body (think rays...X, gamma, radio, etc), but if I take a solid mass projectile and accelerate it to the speed of light, it's not going to phase through other matter simply because it's traveling at the speed of light.  I would expect a massive explosion powerful enough to sunder a planet to be honest.
