The Board automatically compresses and optimizes images and caches them on its Content Delivery Network (Which makes small text blurry)... but clicking on the image should bring up a 3000 pixel high resolution image.

Because we have 96 contestants, we will be having a FINAL 3 and not a FINAL 2.

ROUND of 96 BRACKET A and B (3 sets of 32)

I finally had a chance to review my scores.  I'm really kicking myself about the DareDevil. It would've made a huge difference in my seeding!

I was actually close on the 2001 -- I guessed 9.0.  Something seemed weird about that staple.

Like everyone else, I was way off on the GSC. I had it at a 6.0, which was clearly too harsh. But no way it is a 9.0 with all the apparent scratches and rubs on the front. :o

I was also way off on HOS and WWT.

Overall CGC seemed really generous with their grades! I should send them some VF bronze books asap to see if I can snag some 9s.

Spoiler

         Mine  |  Actual  |  Score
2001  9.0  |  8.5  |  2W
ASM    8.0  |  9.4  |  2L
DD    9.6  |  9.8  |  2W
FF    2.5  |  2.5  |  3W
GSC    6.0  |  9.0  |  2L
HOS    5.0  |  6.5  |  2L
PPSP    3.0  |  3.5  |  2W
WWT    8.0  |  9.4  |  2L
WW    2.0  |  2.5  |  2W
X-MEN    5.0  |  6.0  |  1L

1 Bulls Eyes = No bonus :(
Total 11W, 9L

My total grade points: 58.1
CGC total grade points: 67.4

Yeah. "Gloating" about my totally average score.

If you scored last place, you're set!  For the next round, all you need to do is grade all the books, then subtract ten and take the absolute value of each grade!

(:

I think the problem was that someone said, "don't double-check yourself, go with your initial gut, or you'll psych yourself out".

Which I did. And obviously did not work. He screwed me! lol

I feel like I can grade fairly competently. I had no expectations of being at the top, but dead last? My life is a lie...

You were 0-14. I was 0-15. We both had 0 wins, but my losses were a touch worse.

I'm about to get my ____ pushed in by Warlord.

I got Timfinz...If we make it past the first round it will be a miracle!

One thing crossed my mind about WWT 9.4. The infamous "nut sack wrinkle":roflmao: . You had noted that all books were being pressed, so I guess that took care of it? Could you shed some light on that please? Back cover defects are one of my many blind spots in the grading process. Thank you!

Printer's creases are horizontal, and the nut sack crease was more vertical.  Just want to point that out.

All scans and pictures are post-press.  The presser who pressed that book was able to extremely reduce the nut sack crease to what I showed in the photo.
