Bosco685
Hawkeye: New Marvel Directors Hint at Surprising Direction for Disney+ Series Quote Ahead of the start of production on the series, Marvel Studios has tapped the filmmakers that will bring their highly-anticipated Hawkeye TV series to life. According to The Hollywood Reporter, directing duo Bert and Bertie (Amazon’s Troop Zero) will helm some of the episodes of the series with Rhys Thomas (Documentary Now!, John Mulaney & the Sack Lunch Bunch) set to direct the others; this seemingly alludes to a light-hearted and comedic tone overall for the series. In addition this marks the first Disney+ series from Marvel Studios that will have multiple directors as Kari Skogland helmed all of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier with Matt Shakman directing all of WandaVision and Kate Herron directing all of Loki. Jonathan Igla of Mad Men, Pitch, and Sorry For Your Loss will pen the series which will not only continue the story of Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye but also introduce the fan-favorite character Kate Bishop into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Early reports indicated Marvel Studios had interest in Hailee Steinfeld for the part of Kate Bishop, with another revealing that the Marvel character Echo could also make an appearance. Steinfeld herself has previously dodged revealing anything officially about her invovlement and THR's story casts some doubt on her involvement. "You know, right now, I will tell you that music is where my head is at," she said in a previous interview when asked if she was joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. "That's what I'm focused on… that is what is occupying my brain at the moment." It's unclear when production on the film could begin considering the ongoing lockdowns across the United States. The series will reportedly film under the title of "Anchor Point" while in production.Anchor Point is a reference to the spot on an archer's face to which they draw back their bow for the most accurate shot and, after all, Hawkeye never misses. Anchor Points is also the name of the collected first volume of Kelly Thompson's Hawkeye comic series which published as a paperback in 2017. Bosco685
Quote Marvel Studios upcoming production of Hawkeye is prepping for cameras and the two leads are officially locked in. Casting is currently underway for the Hawkeye series, and we can all sleep well knowing that both Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld are officially set to star in the project. Steinfeld has long been rumored to be circling Hawkeye. In fact, reports of her being offered the role surfaced as early as last year. While we weren’t able to find out the nature of the delayed announcement, or the details of her negotiations, she is now firmly listed as set on the project. In the pages of Marvel Comics, Kate Bishop is defined by her self-determination and grit after surviving a brutal attack that motivated her to transform herself into a potent hero. Bishop’s popularity skyrocketed after being featured in Matt Fraction’s heralded comic run in 2012, which most assume is the inspiration for the Disney+ show. Perhaps just as important was the character’s first introduction in 2005’s Young Avengers title. It would stand to reason that Bishop’s journey would eventually lead to that iconic team in the MCU’s future as well.

Bosco685
Quote Disney+ will serve as an avenue for fleshing out several MCU characters, and Jeremy Renner's Clint Barton will clearly benefit from the year-old streaming service. The bow-wielding Avenger has been established as a mysterious character with a lot of secrets that even his fellow teammates from Earth's Mightiest aren't aware of. Audiences will soon be exposed to at least some of those untold stories when Hawkeye Disney+ series debuts and gives an in-depth look at Barton and his past. Plot details of Hawkeye are still being kept under wraps, but the previously revealed working title "Anchor Point" may shed some light on the comic book ties that the show could potentially adapt. Several bits of casting news from the past months may hint at how the narrative may be inspired by Matt Fraction's highly acclaimed "Hawkeye" comic run. Now, it appears that another intriguing addition is coming to the Disney+ show, someone who will spell some trouble for the MCU's master archer. The Direct has exclusively learned that Madame Masque will appear in a supporting role in Hawkeye. Marvel Studios is currently in the process of casting an actress to play the villain. WHAT THIS MEANS The addition of Madame Masque to Hawkeye presents an exciting possibility not just for the show, but for the MCU moving forward. For those unaware, Madame Masque, otherwise known as Giuletta Nefaria, is a skilled hand-to-hand combatant who is best known for her expertise in robotics. Not only that, the villain wears a golden mask to cover her disfigured face, and this mask is capable of deflecting bullets. Although she is better known as an Iron Man villain (and occasional love interest of the Armored Avenger) from the comics, Madame Masque has also had run-ins with Barton and Kate Bishop as well. The villain had an encounter with Barton and Bishop in Madripoor, but was ultimately defeated. The Madripoor setting is an interesting prospect considering that the setting has been widely rumored to appear in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Madame Masque and Kate Bishop have had multiple run-ins, eventually leading to the revelation that one of the villain's clients from her illegal operations is Bishop's father. Given the connection of Masque and Bishop from the comics, it will be interesting to see exactly how this translates to the small screen. Based from previous rumors, Barton already has his hands full with the potential inclusion of the Tracksuit Mafia and his brother, Trickshot, in the show. With that said, there's a good chance that the show's inclusion of Madame Masque will act to specifically develop Bishop's character arc in exciting ways. Bosco685
Quote Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD has recently just ended its seven-season run. Despite it having been a TV show, people were hoping to see characters from the series in the actual Marvel Cinematic Universe. Especially since Clark Gregg reprised his role as Phil Coulson from the movie-verse in the series. Now, though; it seems that there are rumors that at least one actress will not be reprising her SHIELDS role in the bigger MCU. FandomWire has revealed that Mockingbird will be in the upcoming Disney+ series, but the character won’t be played by Adrianne Palicki. The news outlet has revealed that Marvel Studios will recast the part. Palicki left Agents of SHIELD around season three. Why Marvel is looking to recast, it isn’t made clear. Whether or not this means Marvel doesn’t have a desire to use the TV actors. Or perhaps the actress wouldn’t want to come back to the Marvel universe. That would be a bummer. piper

theCapraAegagrus
Is Hawkeye part deaf? Or is Jeremy Renner part deaf? Or is he receiving lines from the side while the camera is rolling? Or is Hawkeye wearing an earpiece to communicate? Regardless of the answer, he should have died in Endgame.

Hawkeye has been deaf, or at least partly deaf on and off, since his solo series in the 80's. The run the show takes most of its beats from is Matt Fraction and David Ajas run in which he is once again rendered deaf, even the new Avengers game from Crystal Dynamics has him wearing hearing aids. (Personally I wouldve rather he died much earlier like back in Age of Ultron in place of Quicksilver)
