I just noticed that the CGC 9.8 Church Gang Busters #1 in this auction was originally sold as a CGC 9.4 in 2005, then a CGC 9.6 in 2014.

Man I love this hobby!

Don't forget the 2008 and 2012 sales.

I wonder how exactly Overstreet decided that this book has gone up $100 in top guide over the last 5 years, when there is no other copy graded over 9.0 (and it last reported sold back in 2006, maybe riding the coat tails of the first MH sale).

Stuff I think is awesome in this one (and I am going to exclude Original Artwork which is really strong)

1.  Early Sandman Adventures, 40, 44, and 51 in decent grade.  Also issues 61 and 73

2.  Two Batman 1s ( both on the poopier side though)

3.  Some nice Caps

4.  Billy Wright Detective 18

5.  Some nice Human Torch including two #1s

6.  Peanuts #1

7.  Superman 1 and 14

8.  So many high grade Disneys I can hardly focus :ohnoez:

those are fantastic Disneys :x

They need to start grading from .5 to 20 or we’re going to run out of upgrades.

Heritage’s next auction is the Illustration Art auction coming up next week (five days from now).  That may be a safer place to move chips during the current market volatility.  There are some extremely good offerings this time around including pulp covers, science fiction art and of course classic pin-ups. There are even paintings with excellent provenance and gallery credentials. Certainly worth browsing...

MY TOP PICKS

1-Detective Dan #48

The best item in the entire auction by a mile> Do not let the #48 throw you. One of the most historically important comic books of all time period. Add that it is extremely rare and Read thru the description and I want to let you know there is more  facts than that, its a overview. Overstreet says $4000..Ha put it on a Sat auction in the back of the internet sales only...the perfect storm...that is why it is only at $800 or the steal of century.

2-Detective #2 6.5 this book is not gonna get lost, you are gonna have to pay, a keeper for life if you win, but the condition is among the top 5..a rare book but even rarer above 5.0.

3-Marvel Mystery #48 9.6. to win you are really gonna have to pay, colors are amazing for 1943 book...winner all the way.

4- T-Man #34 Hitler Cover, highest graded copy..never seen it before a lot of upside on this book.

5- Master comics 2 and 3. If CGC graded these the values would take off. For the large format they look great condition wise...if they go cheap..consider them and I like #2 better than #3

I was just about to bid on this copy here when I realized that CGC also has a 9.9 condition grade level.  doh!

I guess I am just going to have to wait one more iteration when it comes back out as a CGC 9.9 graded copy because then it would be all ready, set, and go for a perfect 10 which is what I really want for my copy of Gang Busters 1.  :taptaptap:  :p

I would add to the list some outstanding  high grade WD comics and stories books,

Yes indeed, looks like a pretty solid run of the very early WD Comics & Stories here.......and yet they are missing the key issue #31 with the start of the Barkd DD run.  :frown:

How has Overstreet ever decided how much any book's price(s) should change?

If it is a book (or series) that sells for 2-3x guide in all grades: +8-12%

If it is a book Overstreet needs for his collection: +0%

If it is a book that he has secured a copy of recently: +25%

If a Western: +0-1%

If Action #1:, VG +0%, NM +200K

etc. etc.

Don't see a Master Comics 3 here, but I do see a Master Comics #4 in this auction here.  :gossip:  (thumbsu

Took a quick look at the HA archives and noticed that they had sales for both Master 2 and Master 4 (not these 2 specific copies) a few times within the past couple of years.  Interesting to note that each time they came back into the marketplace, they ended up selling for lower and rather significantly lower than the first time each of them sold for back in May of 2018.  :frown:

Well, if it's the Peanuts 1 you are after, it's just a matter of biding your time and waiting for the right one to come along at your desired price since this book seems to have been showing up on a rather consistent basis in auctions over the past few years.  :gossip:  :taptaptap:  :takeit:
