Oddball comics - what is your strangest?

24 posts in this topic

By oddball, I mean production errors. I recently bought a double cover issue of ASM and it had the Mark Jeweler insert. I got to thinking that it must be extremely rare. What are some of your strangest as far as production errors or rarity? Let's exclude issues that are double covers only as those are quite common.

I have a double book. Instead of cover I have every page in the book twice.

It does the first half of the story twice, then the second half. From Adv. of Sups 426

I have four copies of a SpecWar comic where the first 16 pages are SpecWar and the last 16 pages are from some pseudo-softporn title...

It's really obvious too, since the paper stock for the SpecWar is a full bleed and the other comic has white space on all the edges...

The copy of Batman #615 I bought off the stand is missing the first wrap. Then when I got to the center of the book I found it -- just folded in half and stuck in there.

Those are all good examples AFAIAC. I have heard of a comic that had 4 covers once too. I thought it was on Ebay but can't remember.

Yeah, there was a Quad cover Spider-Man book on Ebay not too long ago. (A copy of Marvel Tales?). Seller was named "tataboy123" or something like that. He kept spamming the Ebay Boards when it was up for auction, after asking advice about it previously. I believe the opening bid was $5,000? Needless to say, a hearty laugh was had by all.

There was a quintuple cover FF on eBay a few weeks ago--not a key issue though. It was slabbed and the "quintuple cover" was noted on the label.

I tried to find it in the completed listings, but no luck :-( Can't search "title and description."

I'll keep looking, and will post if I can find it. If anyone knows where to find it, please post!
