Popular Post Randall Dowling
Nice pickups, @lbcolefan! I would've bid on the Battle Cry but all my pennies were committed to purchasing a couple pieces of original illustration art by Vic Prezio. I'm really happy with both, photos don't do them justice! Popular Post Randall Dowling
Recent pickup. Tough to find these due to their inherent resistance to search engines. Tougher still to find them in fresh shape but I'm slowly chipping away at them. comicjack, jimjum12, dover and 6 others

And there's a lot of stuff to pursue within the genre- original Pussycat stories are all printed there, early issues have amazing covers and interior art by some of the best like George Gross, Victor Prezio, Walter Popp, Basil Gogos, Mel Crair, James Bama, Rudy Nappi, Clarence Doore, Mort Kunstler, Norman Saunders, Rafael Desoto, Howell Dodd, Charles Copeland, Gil Cohen, etc., and then there are the Nazi issues with all the crazy covers by Eastman (monkey arm reattachment is my personal favorite), and last there are unusual special issues like Man's Life with the Weasel's Ripped My Flesh cover that is sought after because of Zappa, the Bluebook issue with the early Ian Fleming story, etc. It's a rich landscape of material!. jimjum12, Jayman and lbcolefan

Apparently back in the early 60s, this was something that happened in the jungle from time to time. Nice Bill Ward full page illustration on the inside. Ray Johnson did a fair amount of mostly interior work for the Men's Adventure Mags as well. His MAM work has become invaluable to me because there's usually a lot more characters portrayed than on a paperback cover so it has become a good research resource for different characters he used. He did his usual sexy women but most of his MAM stuff had somewhat of a sense of good-natured humor and he never drew any of the crazy torture stuff. We've identified about 80 MAM works of his tangentially to our paperback cover checklist. Here's a couple for fun (not my copies) Action for Men, Dec. 1962 Ken For Men July 1959 - Long Pig Amazons Action for Men March 1960 Action for Men - January 1966. This is one of the last/latest pieces of commercial art I've seen from him If anyone comes across any other of Ray Johnson's MAM art, please contact me to see if I have it listed! Flex Mentallo
As for favorite cover, that's really tough, at least five strong candidates, but I think I'd have to give pride of place to this one - it's the first one I ever obtained and it kick-started my magazine collecting. So who else has a favorite cover? Jayman, Randall Dowling and lbcolefan
