Drag Cartoons?

Incidentally, "Big Daddy" Roth "joined" the staff of Pete Millar's Drag Cartoons in issue #4. Here's a scan of the back cover:

"Big Daddy" was featured in a one page story in issue #4:

The issue also contained both an ad for Roth's T-shirts:

Plus another for the "Big Daddy" Roth fan club:

The artwork for both the stories and the ads appears to be by Pete Millar himself. This Millar drawn ad for subscriptions is reflective of the general zaniness featured in the magazine:

Drag Cartoons also invariably featured a membership ad for the National Association for the Advancement of Flatheads:

Let me solemnly assure everyone that I would certainly have joined this august association had I the money at the time.

Issues #25-49 have Wonder Wart-Hog stories by Gilbert Shelton. The later issues also have Shelton Bull' O Fuzz stories.

Issues #4-10 have "Big Daddy" Roth stories. Issues #3-16 have steadily larger Roth T-shirt ads starting with a half pager in issue #3. By issue #13 the T-shirt ads are a full two pages.

I recall seeing Big Daddy Roth and his hot rods in many magazines and ad''s during the 60's. I know I had one issue of Cartoons, from about 65, that I read many a time. There was a story of a kid who "borrowed" auto parts from his neighbor to assemble his hot rod, if I recall correctly.
