Rick2you2
Let me first say that I am impressed by Jim Lee's 60 day marathon effort to do sketches for the benefit of the industry. Apart from the applause, I was wondering what have been your favorites to date, pricing, and any other matters on the subject? If you are not familiar with the marathon, they are on eBay, and his screen name is ChunkyMonkey0000. They are also on his Facebook page. The fact that he can bang out a sketch a day at that level of quality, and still have time for a full-time job, is impressive. To draw what looks like an average of $5,000 or so each at this stage is amazing to me. Of the first 4, I think the one I like least is Bizarro. Nightwing looks the cleanest; Dr. Fate is a bit fussy for my taste (too much detail). Azrael simply doesn't interest me. Anyone's thoughts? Popular Post stinkininkin
I should probably stay away from this subject since people can infer all sorts of motives for my take on all things Jim Lee, but this is exactly the type of thing I've learned to expect from Jim. He is extremely generous with his time and his talent, and he has a superhuman amount of energy and stamina. To be able to do these on a daily basis for 60 days (30 days and 30 sketches would have been enough for most, but not Jim!) and to give back to the comic stores that helped make his career is inspiring. It's nice to have something to cheer about in one of the most difficult times in recent history and this is one of those things. OH, and the art is freaking amazing too! exitmusicblue, Rick2you2, J.Sid and 19 others
Brian Peck
I know someone who will help the Bizzaro get a healthy hammer. Keep it up Jim!!! J.Sid
J.Sid
Anyone know if these are deductible (from the buyer's end) as charitable donations? (yes, I want one!) Edited April 5, 2020 by J.Sid Twanj
AnkurJ
Truly awesome! How it will be determined which stores benefit? Keys_Collector
GeneticNinja
I've been checking these out daily. Looking forward to all the artwork. I think he said no duplicate characters too. Doctor Fate is my favorite so far. Andahaion
Catwoman_Fan
As a 1990's Batman reader, Azrael is my favorite, followed by the Doctor. Partially because I never thought Azrael would be picked (let alone, so early). Jim's auctions, along with Mike Mignola's sketch posts, are a daily joy! alxjhnsn
I'm most impressed with the character of the man, but the art's not bad either. I'm very unlikely to bid on anything, but they are fun to see. Oh, Bizarro and Dr. Fate are my favorites so far. I'd prefer the Bizarro without the speech bubble. NC101
Rick2you2
Next up, Batman who Laughs. So far, my favorite. And from the looks of the bidding already, I am not alone.

I'd also be interested how the shops are chosen. Jim Lee once again proving he's as good of a human being as he is an artist.

Given his role, I guess it makes sense he has to stick with DC but I think there are a lot of people out there (like me) that don't collect anything DC, regardless of who is drawing it. Rick2you2
Consider this news: The reason Jim is only doing DC sketches is because when he is finished, DC is going to publish them and sell the sketch books. Using anything besides DC characters would undoubtedly create copyright issues. I had sent him an email suggesting that all the sketches should be published when he is finished. I was advised that this was the plan. I also asked him if I should keep it secret, and the response was that publicity will be good for sale. So, there’s some good news coming out of the pandemic for a change. Catwoman_Fan and Keys_Collector
ExNihilo
I had hoped some of these might be "affordable", but seeing the prices, that's clearly out the window. Original art by Jim is damn near the top of my list of grail items at this point. I'd venture that a page from his Batman run inked by Scott is at the very top. AnkurJ
You can buy a really nice published page for the same amount. While it may not be from xmen or Hush, it would still be quite nice. Rick2you2, Andahaion and Twanj
