Really hard to tell with photos. Light can play tricks on you, which is why a scan is always better.

Looks to me to be in VF range. You have some spine ticks (some which look like they'll press out), some edge/corner wear and what appears to be some light soiling on the back cover near the spine. Pretty copy, impossible to grade accurately from the photos.

Purple... that's a tough break. Do you (or anyone out there) know if the color retouching takes the grade down? I understand the qualified label, but was wondering if the restoration, if done poorly or not, effects the grade.
