I would like to begin, with a short bio about myself and whom I nominate to begin with as member #1 of the CGC Comic Book Form Members Hall Of Fame. I wish I could claim to have been on these boards in the beginning. When I first came on the boards I did series of introduction threads  called "Journey of a comic book collector". This gave board members some of the background  in regards to where I came from, as both a collector and dealer since 1961. There is a old saying...you had to be there to understand how really beautiful it was, and the early days of comic book collecting, while we were the "Rodney Dangerfield" of collectors...Coins were the King. So I let the chips fall where they may in coming in on the boards and have been on this board every since, every day. Despite 50+ years in the field as a collector, comic book store owner, and dealer...I learn something every day here and thank for the sharing of your knowledge and experience.

I would like to send a message to all "lookers" over the years, who  have either been reluctant to post or communicate with our great CGC board world. You are missing out, yes it tough, similar to some type of hazing, especially in the early days of the wild Wild West on this board but over the years the mods have become more active. But you will become a better collector, in terms knowledge, new friendships , and eliminating the sometimes isolation we comic book collectors have with the general world as they don't get it. I hope this nominations will inspire other collectors to participate as active members and make out community stronger and more informed. Trust me it is worth it.

I Nominate as the first and founding member of the CGC Comic Book Form Members hall of fame: Calamerica

I wish to say, there are many many posters that I would put right up there...Robo, Cat, Richard, Gator etc. But my choice above all others is CAL:

I have been extremely lucky to a have a phone conversation interview with CAL for one of my "Journey of a Comic book collector" pieces or "Year In Review" that I used do. Cal approach is unique, yet his points are very relevant. There are a lot of meaning in his posts which if you analyze carefully you will be entertained but could lost because of the humor. Cal is a true comic book collector and there is no limitation of what a true collector collects it could be 100 copies if IMSM#1 or FF1. Cal's comeback on the boards in last few days, got me to think about how "fun" these board used to be. It got me to think, it is not just about the the $ or the grade that we are here on these boards. It is because we "Get It'...Kirby FF1 cover , EC science fiction story "My World", or waiting for that third issue of the "Dark Knight" and in this darkest of times we really really need it.

Well folks, CAL gets it, with his unique humor, wit, poetry..he is our comic book board "beat" poet of the boards, but with always a message, about the state times in our comic book universe. The E-bay buyers who back out...which translates to who has any comic book honor anymore....how about the days a deal was a deal, is it the $ that is more important  or your comic book collector integrity with buyers remorse or is that the state of our society today. Outrageously this so called collector put his own son under. the bus to avoid a purchase. Thank you for reminding us as to what is important.   Cal, I understand your frustration with the evolution that "anything" goes in todays business world. Honor should be #1 along with truth, justice and the American way. In 1939 Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel certainly  got it right, what was really IS important and at the end of the day is who we have become as a result of our conduct as a true comic book collector and hold those accountable for lowering out acceptable standards of business.

I hope you fellow collectors and board members add to this list, and remembered.

Wonderful nomination.  May I also suggest we name an institution of higher learning after him to honor his greatness?

I don't know if Mitch is talking about people who make this a better place, or those who make it a more entertaining place.  Given who he nominated I have to assume the latter.  With that in mind I want to nominate Dupcak/Hammer/Comic Keys/Robojo and Thomas and Elizabeth Neeley.

Just copied this Thread.

Stu is determined to get this locked.

How miserable he must be. Has nothing to do but this garbage.

Now going on 19 years of Trolling and harassing, chasing and Libeling someone

for 19 years cannot be deemed to be a healthy, balanced entity.

I feel for his kids.

CAL who won't forget nor should he forget....:sumo:

Don't we already have a hall of fame?

that was hall of shame....this is the conforming members HOF such as board member Winston Smith of the 2+2=5...."at least you can see the possibility"...in CAL style right?
