Someone did well there. And, of course, someone didn't. An odd journey when you think about it. Someone goes to the trouble of getting it graded and then it somehow finds its way to MCS with a low BIN despite the fairly widespread evidence now of its value. First person to see it, who understands it, buys it (it wasn't me, alas).

Maybe it's an error and they forgot to add the extra zero(s).....

That's a beauty!  Are they all like that (the 15p version)?  I still need to obtain all of the other price variants of "my" issues...

That should be the name of the Class File-copy Pedigree books.  Or maybe they'd just call them file-copies?

This is tatty but one of those with the interesting back cover. It confirms the connection between Alan's company and his father-in-laws Streamline Publications. So it seems to me that established connections between London and the States were passed to Alan. But I wonder why they wanted old Class comics. Hadn't they kept any themselves and needed them back to copy from for future reprints? And did they get much of any of the other stuff they were asking for? And who was the collector of this stuff all those years ago? I don't think it would have been Alan himself. Is there a large collection still to surface?

My recollection from old reading somewhere is that it was a private collector. Maybe they worked at Streamline. It wouldn't be a surprise that a comic producer / industry worker would also be a collector I suppose. That's quite the classified ad though, isn't it. Next issue: Car for sale. One careless owner

I recall in the classified ads of an old comic fanzine there was a car for sale and said something along these lines

”Mini van. It has a 1000cc engine and likes Batman comics”

well it amused me at the time else I wouldn’t still remember it

That’s a good idea. I have a car to sell. I could fill the boot with this heap of Viz magazines I keep tripping over

i once bought a car that had a boot full of music cartridges but the player had been removed by the seller

in the boot was one of those joke arms that you hung out the back so folks thought there was a body in the boot.

Thats a trunk for those on the wrong side of the Atlantic. And the hood is that canvas thing above my head not the piece of metal above the engine.
