I'm feeling lazy and didn't want to seek out the image. 

BUT, I did just look at the GCD gallery of Creepy covers and see that Alan only used that cover once.  I would like to see a plate example of one of the re-used covers.

Examples of amended cover plate sets seem hard to find @Yorick

I did find this single K plate image though - an ASOS #75 shilling original with a later 6p priced edition (#124):

 

Looks like he just snapped the top corner bit off and then dug an oblong hole in it. Proper technical, was our Alan

The plates ARE metal, right?  He couldn't just take a scalpel to it...

30th Century have just posted a few more sets Yorick, and you can see that the Uncanny Tales #7 set has a circle cut out of the K plate where the one shilling price would have been on the first use of the cover:

The second and third uses of the cover show circular 15p / 25p prices, which correspond with the circular plate cut out, so you can see where the approach may have been to reuse the plate and just cut away what wasn't wanted / add new pricing and dressing:

 

There must have been a 15p / 25p slug added somehow - I wonder if we'll ever see a plate that still has the amended pieces attached?

Looking at my Uncanny Tales #10 plate set, if this plate...

...made this cover...

...and I have it, untouched with the shilling price still etched out....

 

....I wonder how Alan made these three subsequent books that used the same cover? 

    

New / different plates, or the same plates with, perhaps, an overprint of some sort?

At least there's no color in that area.  Only need to change the black.  I guess Alan had a discount from the plate maker?  No need to modify the existing plate?  I'd not noticed the Class logo change before...

I love the tooling marks in the large swatches of uninked area on the black plate.
