Great book, Paul.

Thanks Jeff. It was not a tough decision. Buy this restored book before it gets completely out of reach or hang on for an Unrestored, which I probably would never win anyway. No brainer. It's beautiful in hand too.

It's really striking to compare copies of Fight 31 with no ink fade -- like the one above -- to the far more common faded version, such as the Promise Collection copy.

The faded copies look positively bland by comparison.

They are not necessarily faded. Ordinarily one would say they are, but Fiction House books are notorious for variations in vibrancy and depth of ink used. It really did depend on where a certain batch of books were printed.

Do we know that Fiction House used different printers for the same book?

I'm not an expert on it by any means, but this has been discussed at length in various threads about FH books, and it seems to be the consensus of opinion. There are a couple of Boardies who are very knowledgeable about it and precise. I've no reason to doubt it. You can find more info in the 'Planet' thread, and the 'Fiction House' thread....somewhere...they are big threads. :insane:
