X-Men 89 printing error? 1 1

I’m curious if anybody else on the boards has ever seen this on issue number 89 - where the number two in $.25 is not printed or very very slightly visible

My first impression is whiteout but that should be very easy to see in person.

I'm not sure if it's white out, but the area where the 2 belongs definitely looks different than adjacent white areas. Plus there's some white intruding into the cc and the top box bar. I'd guess either color touch (including white out) or some chemical or abrasive removal process. 

Any chance of a higher res shot of that corner?

It looks like whatever it is extends just a fraction into the green on top.

Looks like someone took a magic eraser to it…a little rough on the dry cleaning

Looks like they accidentally took out a bit of the 'CC' mark too, if you look closely. I don't believe this was a natural mistake.

Ha I’m staring at it and I honestly can’t tell - it probably was erased but there’s not enough abrasion to make it look like it was erased - Just the hints at the edge of the cc and the slight mark above where the two was - plus you can see the outline of the two... it’s very faint but it’s there

 

that’s why I asked if anybody had ever seen this because if there were other examples I would know maybe it is a misprint but now I’m thinking it’s probably just erased - thanks for all your input

Get the right lightbulb to run it by and you'd be set. I don't want to guesstimate at what that is, however. It's nearly 1am, and I'm bound to give the dumbest answer.
